Lrig Analysis Part 1

Lrig Analysis Part 1

Booster

21.10.2024

Hello Selectors! Today we’re diving into more cards from the upcoming Blue Archive collaboration expansion. This time, we’ll analyze the blue and white Assist Lrigs. So, let’s begin with the Make-up Work Club!

[Level 1]

Ajitani Hifumi

Starting with Ajitani Hifumi, this Level 1 Lrig grows at no cost during the main phase. Upon evolving, you can look at the top five cards of your deck and reveal a Signi and another non-colorless Signi that shares the same Class as the first. This card is great in decks that take advantage of specific tribes (like Atom or Angel), making it an excellent tool for tribe synergy.

Urawa Hanako [Level 1]

Next up, Urawa Hanako is another Level 1 Lrig that grows at no cost during the main phase. Her ability lets you bounce an opponent’s Level 2 or lower Signi back to their hand, clearing an attack lane without giving them ener. However, since the Signi can be replayed next turn, it’s best to target those without Enter Abilities to avoid triggering unwanted effects.

Now that we’ve covered the Level 1 Lrigs, let’s move on to the Level 2 Assist Lrigs!

 [Level 2]

Urawa Hanako [Want to Break the Rule]

This Level 2 Lrig grows at no cost and is only playable during the main phase. Once evolved, it grants all your Signi an extra +5000 power until the end of the next End Phase, forcing your opponent to use more resources to deal with them. Additionally, its second ability allows you to retrieve a Guard from the trash, protecting you from your opponent’s next Lrig attack.

If you’ve unlocked Bond with this character, you can look at the top seven cards of your deck and add a Blue Archive card to your hand. This ability boosts your defense and resource management, making it a solid choice for white decks.

Urawa Hanako [Swimsuit]

This Level 2 Assist Lrig grows for a cost of 2 ener and can be played during either the main or attack phases. When it enters, it bounces an opponent’s Signi back to their hand, opening a lane for an attack or preventing one. If played during your opponent’s attack phase, this ability can disrupt their offense while also creating a gap in their defenses.

You can also pay an additional 3 ener (one of which must be white) to remove all abilities from an opponent’s Signi, a powerful effect for critical situations. Unlocking Bond with her lets you look at the top seven cards and add a Blue Archive card to your hand. Though this card offers strong defensive options, most of the time you’ll likely use it for its 2-cost bounce effect.

Ajitani Hifumi [Help me, Peroro!]

This Level 2 Assist Lrig grows for a cost of 3 ener and can be played during the main or attack phases. Upon entering, it summons Peroro Plush, a Level 2 Signi with 10,000 power that forces your opponent to attack the lane where Peroro is placed. For example, if your right lane is empty and Peroro is in the center, your opponent’s Signi that would normally attack the empty lane will be forced to attack Peroro, preventing direct damage to your Life Cloth.

If Peroro is Upped and is about to leave the field (due to battle or effects), you can Down it instead, making it harder to remove. This defensive ability lets you block attacks and protect your life, especially if there aren’t more than two Signi with 10,000 power. Unlocking Bond gives you access to the top seven cards, adding a Blue Archive card to your hand. Overall, Ajitani Hifumi is a strong defensive Lrig that can stall your opponent’s attacks when played at the right moment.

Ajitani Hifumi [Swimsuit]

Finally, we close out the white Assist Lrigs with Ajitani Hifumi [Swimsuit], a Level 2 Lrig. This card grows for 0 ener and is only playable during the main phase. If you pay an additional 3 ener, you can summon Crusadie, a Signi that remains on the field until the end of your opponent’s next turn. When the attack phase starts, Crusadie allows you to send an opponent’s Signi to the trash, and when it attacks, you can send another one. With 15,000 power, it’s a tanky Signi that clears two lanes. This, combined with the Bond ability, makes it a devastating option in white decks.

Now let’s move on to the blue Assist Lrig line, starting with C&C!

 [Level 1]

Kakudate Karin

Kakudate Karin is a Level 1 Assist Lrig with a grow cost of 0, playable in the main phase. Upon entering, it sends an opponent’s Level 1 Signi to the bottom of their deck, helping you clear a lane without giving them resources. This is especially useful in the early or mid-game to maintain board control.

Ichinose Asuna

Ichinose Asuna has a similar setup, with a grow cost of 0 and playable in the main phase. When she enters, you draw two cards, which is a typical blue ability. In most cases, Level 1 Assist Lrigs in blue provide similar effects, such as draw 2 or draw 3, discard 1.

[Level 2]

Ichinose Asuna [On My Way!]

Ichinose Asuna grows for a cost of 1 ener and can be played during the main or attack phases. Each time a Signi attacks you, you can reveal the top card of your deck. If the revealed card matches the level of the attacking Signi, you can cancel the attack, though the revealed card goes to the trash. This ability is risky as it relies on guessing how your opponent will attack, making it less reliable as a defensive option. However, her second Enter Ability lets you rearrange the top five cards of your deck.

By unlocking Bond, you can draw two cards and discard one. Though this card can synergize with blue center decks, it doesn’t provide much defensive certainty, as it will mostly be played during your opponent’s turn.

Kakudate Karin [Target Removal]

Kakudate Karin grows for a cost of 3 ener, playable in both the main and attack phases. Upon entering, she sends an opponent’s Signi to the bottom of their deck, and if the Signi has 15,000 power or more, your opponent must also discard a card. This 2-for-1 trade can be useful in situations where you want to strip your opponent of multiple resources. Unlocking Bond lets you draw two cards and discard one, adding more flexibility to your deck’s draw power.

Ichinose Asuna [Bunny]

Finally, Ichinose Asuna [Bunny] grows for 0 ener and is playable only in the main phase. Her Enter Ability forces your opponent to discard two random cards, which is very strong for the cost. You can also pay 1 ener to reduce all opponent’s Signi power by 3000, which can combine with other cards (like Nanashi Dissona) to total -6000. This Assist Lrig has great potential in the right decks and could become a powerful tool.

Kakudate Karin [Bunny]

Closing our analysis is Kakudate Karin [Bunny], a Level 2 Assist Lrig with a grows cost of 0, playable only in the main phase. If you pay 6 ener (a steep cost), you can send all of your opponent’s Signi to the bottom of their deck! This is a powerful board wipe with no drawbacks, and though the cost is high, it could be game-changing in certain scenarios. We’ll have to see how this card plays out after release, but it looks like a devastating tool in blue decks.

That concludes our analysis! Stay tuned for part 2, where we’ll discuss the green and black Lrigs. In the meantime, get your decks ready, pick your favorite Center Lrig, and prepare for battle!
